Are you ready to improve YOUR lifestyle?

Controlling your diabetes is up to YOU.  Not your doctor, or anyone else.  The quality of your life and your future depends on how well you control your diabetes today

Beat Diabetes Daily gives control and daily management a boost.  You get measurable results as you implement your own unique plan of management.

I  was diagnosed with Type I diabetes in August of 1959 at the age of 3 1/2. From almost infancy through childhood, teen years to adulthood I have fought the battle with diabetes. Today I'm well into middle-age and have managed to steer clear of the major complications often associated with diabetes (eyes, kidneys, neurological ).

I'm married, have 4 children, and 13 grandchildren.  I spend the majority of my time as an
Internet Copywriter/Consultant.  When I'm not working, I enjoy golf (I'm a hacker), gardening, helping other diabetics, and going to a small place we have at North Topsail beach in North Carolina.

My  goal is to serve as a mentor and coach  to other diabetics and their friends and families whenever I can.

Most health-care professionals have lots and lots of technical knowledge about diabetes. You may hear what they are telling you to do, yet it's very hard to come home and do what they've told you each and every day, day in and day out.   Anger, frustrations, denial, and just not knowing what to do are all problems that may keep you from good diabetes control.  Don't avoid the emotional issues.  Accept them, face facts and change your attitude.  Your quality of life, and the length of your depend on controlling your diabetes.  As you may have heard me say before, once complications hit, they all say, " I wish I had taken better care of myself.  Now is the time to start.

Diabetes requires major lifestyle changes to consistently have good control of your diabetes.  Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects every aspect of our lives.

The goal of my work on this site...articles, books, and courses is to help you learn how to use the information you get from your healthcare professionals and apply it in your unique life each day for a healthier future.

You'll find many sources of technical knowledge about diabetes.  Yet, you won't find many "how-to's helping you to actually incorporate tasks of managing diabetes into a workable, functional, rewarding life.  I've been fortunate to be able to do just that.  My goal here is to help others with the diabetes struggles.

Read study and put to work the methods I present in Beat Diabetes Daily to make your life healthier and happier.

Best of Health and of  Life,

Janet Smith
